I start work on insulating my floor this week

Dear Peckham Power folks,

Just a very quick note to say that I'm intending to spend this week lifting my living room floors and installing insulation between the joists (and possibly underfloor heating).  Please feel free to drop in if you want but please call or email me before just to make sure I'm not in the middle of a DIY panic!  It's possible that I'll have to spend most of this week preparing the joists rather than installing the insulation (there's some evidence of rot and other nasty things which will need fixing before installing the insulation).  I'll photograph and video as much of the process as I can.

If for some reason you're particularly interested in the weird problems with my floor then here's a forum thread where I've been discussing my floor at some length: http://www.greenbuildingforum.co.uk/newforum/comments.php?DiscussionID=3244

Thanks,
Jack

Would it be possible to come and look sometime tomorrow? Ann

Hi Ann,

Sure, you're very welcome to come and have a look if you want.  I should have the vast majority of my floorboards lifted by Fri morning.  Unfortunately it will be some time before I actually start insulating under the floor though because the substructure under the floorboards is all wrong and needs to be heavily modified if not completely ripped out.

What time would you like to pop over?  Coincidentally, Clyde is coming round at about 11am.

Thanks,
Jack
